Jason Simon is a professional Illustrator and entertainer living in New York City with his awesome wife Tara. After years of pursuing his craft as a performer with only cursory jumps into illustration and design, mainly for friends and theatrical endeavors, Jason finally made the jump into freelance illustration full-force when he injured his knee while performing the role of Shrek. Having a post surgery recovery that required being laid up for several months and several months more of physical therapy. During this time, to help keep his artistic cravings at bay, Jason launched himself into a couple of “100 days” projects and later a “year of movies” personal project. Sharing these personal projects over social media garnered much attention. And inspired people to reach out to him with commissions for a variety of projects. Most notably his friend, writer and fellow performer John Treacy Egan, sought him out to collaborate on a series of children’s books based on a new musical he had written. And thus Jason made his first foray into the world of children’s books with INGREDIENTS FOR A WITCH.

Whether it be caricature, portraiture, commissioned works, entertainment/theatrical related pieces or children’s books, Jason is excited to keep illustrating and help visualize and capture more stories!
